Operator: HydroComplete LLC. Effective October 5, 2026
These Terms are a binding agreement between you and HydroComplete LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company ("Yard Sun Map", "we"), the operator of the Yard Sun Map service. By linking your Ring account to Yard Sun Map, or by using your map page, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not link your account or use the service. You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract.
Yard Sun Map analyses still snapshots from Ring cameras you connect and shows which parts of the scene get direct sun, and for how many hours on a clear day. On request it estimates clear-day solar output for squares of the scene you pick. Sun hours are automated readings of camera imagery and may be incomplete or wrong; cameras see only what is in view, when they are online and taking snapshots.
Our data practices are set out in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms. In summary: snapshots are analysed in memory and not kept, except the latest daylight one per camera, shown behind your map; a coarse brightness map and sun counts per camera are kept; nothing is sold or used to train AI; no outside data service is used; and you can delete everything at any time from your map page, or by removing Yard Sun Map in the Ring app, either of which erases it immediately. The Privacy Policy controls if it and this summary differ.
The service, including its software, analysis method, design, name and documentation, is owned by HydroComplete LLC. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it to map sun on your own property. You keep all rights in your Ring recordings and grant us only the limited permission to retrieve and process snapshots to provide the service. "Ring" and "Amazon" are trademarks of their owners; Yard Sun Map is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ring LLC or Amazon.com, Inc. beyond taking part in the Ring developer program.
The service depends on Ring and Amazon (camera access and account linking, under your agreement with Ring) and on Fly.io (hosting). We are not responsible for their outages, changes or acts. Your use of Ring remains governed by Ring's own terms.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, HydroComplete LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of or inability to use the service, including decisions about planting, landscaping or solar equipment made using its readings or estimates. Total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim.
By you: delete your account and data at any time with Delete my account and data on your map page, or remove Yard Sun Map in the Ring app; either ends access and erases your data immediately. By us: we may suspend or end access for breach of these Terms, unlawful use or abuse, or if Ring, Amazon or the law requires it, and where practical we will tell you by email. We may discontinue the service with reasonable notice. On any termination your data is deleted as on unlinking. Sections 4 to 7 survive termination.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date and, where feasible, announced on your map page or by email before they take effect.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
